Book of Manu[Quelltext bearbeiten]

Everything Nietzsche writes about "Tschandala" in Götzen-Dämmerung is cited or paraphrased from the "Book of Manu", and therefore does not necessarily represent his own opinion. He uses the Book of Manu as the opposite of the Gospel, both extreme examples of the opposite approaches towards the creation of morality. Although he writes enthousiastically about the Book of Manu to clearly show how different it is from the Christian approach, this doesn't prove that he endorses the views described therein. He's just making clear his crucial discovery, the main point of this chapter: that both in the Christian and the Indian approach, "alle Mittel, wodurch bisher die Menschheit moralisch gemacht werden sollte, (...) von Grund aus unmoralisch (waren)" (5.). Could someone with a better grasp of the German language than myself please correct the article to reflect this? This seems very important to me, as the inability of the reader to discern between an author's own views and those opinions he quotes or describes to make a polemical point, is exactly why Nietzsche's later writings -- which were not necessarily influenced by his impending madness -- were so terribly misinterpreted by Nazi Germany. Umarbeitung[Quelltext bearbeiten]

Sep. 2007 (CEST)Beantworten
